Watching this last bunch of Elders and Sisters leave to their missions was like saying farewell to some of my Eternal Friends. Sister Grant, Sister Fairweather, Elder Garard, Elder Alsop, Elder Johnson, Elder Tengelson, and Elder Gregerson have left an indelible impression on my life that cannot be forgotten. These wonderful friends of mine reached out to each person they associate with in a spirit of pure Christ like love. It was truly like I was surrounded by Angels during the last 9 weeks. While many of them still were trying to earn their wings, they all had the heart of a servant of Christ and they all worked to overcome their unique challenges with a brave determination and living faith. We shared many tears, in fact, more than any group of missionaries that I have ever been privileged to work with. We cried in joy, in sorrow, in repentance, in compassion, in empathy, in pure love that seemed to shed itself in the hearts of this new fellowship of ordained servants. We were able to blend our faith together and help each other realize the vision of heaven in regard our Call to Serve the people of the Philippine Islands. Our time was filled with purpose and I cannot thank these missionaries and their family and friends enough for their selfless consecrated service/ sacrifice. You all have given so much to a people that I love even though many of you reading this wont ever be able to peer into thier black eyes and faces shining with the light of Christ's love. These missionaries have given their Passion and Discipline to Christ and with the Holy Ghost as their guide I can view in my mind the miracle of the restoration coming to many families throughout the period of their service. They have the Lord's spirit with them and he is preparing the way before them. In their eyes you can see that the flame of the spirit is in their hearts. They are truly Angels who come to bear you up and lead people to the Savior. I will miss them greatly!
